Fature – From the Other Side (2012)

9.3

/Breakcore, Kosmische Musik, Psychedelic electronica, Experimental electronica, Downbeat, Breaks, DIY, Ambient dub, Lo-fi/

Comment: these 4 pieces are made up of dusty, a little frowzy broken beats which are set below the dubbed layers of electronic progressions (which in turn used to extend from wobbly electronic arrangements and bent downbeat sequences to more glacial glow-tinged spaced-outs). Indeed, all these elements are seamlessly interlaced with each other therefore providing a solid configuration. Behind this project hides himself an experienced cockney producer, Lee, who heads such label as Faturenet Recordings.

htrspltn - All Your Flowers Have Blossomed (2012)

9.3

/Ambient techno, Experimental electronica, Avant-electronica, Downbeat/

Comment: this batch of 8 tracks comes out from Ulan-Ude, Siberia, Russia which stylistically might be tagged as cosmic electronic disco because it is made up of reversed vocal bits, atmospheric gliding, a little glowering thudding, however, all these elements are interlaced with each other in an organic way (sometimes the artist exploits concrete sounds either). In a word, all these vibrations used to be in full swing being frequently abstract and emotive at the same time.

ShakySuperFly - Don't Sweat the Neon Fever (2011)

/Trip-hop, Hip-hop, Sampledelic, Cut and paste, Sound collage, Urban music/

Comment: 9 tracks which end up at the length of 21 minutes. More profoundly, all the tracks are cut up to the pieces of hip-hop, propulsive sultry samples, "accidental" spoken word snippets and primitivistic electronica. A solid reflection of the urban sampled tapestry.

Without Time – Trap (2011)

Dystopiaq

8.8

/Post-rock, Epic, Alternative pop/rock, Post-metal, Crososver, Experimental rock/

Comment: Without Time are Sasha Kondrashov and Yan Kolomytsky from Grodno, Belorussia who offer one, 6-minute track Trap. Posture-filled majestic rock/metal drive is ornamented with melancholic piano-headed frames and enjoyable guitar warbles in the midst of the track. And of course, the coverprint is nice.

htrspltn – some mediavirus vol. 1 (2011)

/Sound collage, Experimental, Urban music, Plunderphonics, Sampledelic, Trip-hop, Hip-hop, Cinematic/

Comment: this 10-track decentration is an outstanding amalgamation in the realms of hip-hop and trip-hop music, sound collage and plunderphonics-induced world. Sublime infiltrated layers of cinematic pop, warped downbeat chords, haunting jazz-based detours, stabbing scratches, reversed bits and bites of world fusion, ethereal vowel experiments right and left do constitute your day for sure. All of that is wrapped up in obligatory crackling and hiss mist. It is insolent and alleviating at the same time. It could be described as an instance of demented Portishead, for instance. By the way, the album is created in Ulan-Ude, Eastern Siberia, Russia.

A Flat Noise - Hollow EP (2011)

/Alternative, Electro-rock, Electronic, Remixes, Lo-fi, Dark pop, Shoegaze/

Comment: This 4-pieced EP embarks on in an electro-drenched, orchestrated rock mould. Thereafter it continues running back and forth on sultry electro segments in its very marrow. Lazily stomping beats, austere amount of guitar chords and hazy electronic progressions in the background are up here to set out a quite heavily opening whole. The last track Hospital (2009) searches timidly for shoegaze realms, yet, succeeding in creating process of dream-alike milieus surrounding pleasantly a listener. The favorite of mine is Hollow (A1X Remix) which constitutes an underlay of dynamical, catchy beats. By the way, the project comes from Ecuador.
