Comment: San Diego-based producer AbJo`s issues can be dug out from Bandcamp – there are represented 16 ones. However, The Art Of Dreaming is an exception being outside the row. In any cases, The Art of Dreaming is an eminent issue where more or less fractured hip-hop and trip-hop breaks are adorned with subtle glockenspiel induced jingle-jangle, captivated synth loops, moderate sonic effects, dizzy harp drenched enchantment and intellectual play of art pop tendencies. Mandatory tones of soul music are also up there. Although the predominant milieu on it is sedative and soothing the signs of a good album cut through during the course of these 22 minutes. Comment: exactly one year ago, on the 19^th of July in 2014 LuckEnHouse posted at his Facebook site the announcement about the release of an album, Panaji which used to weave psychedelic hazes, electronic rhythms of trance and chill out music and world music/ethnic music oriented motives to create a set of 57 minute to embed the needle deep into the listener`s hedonistic cerebral centre. Yeah! Indeed, it is a sophisticated outing with regard to have got to set out the plan to balance smoothly between the aforementioned styles. Since the 60s the Indian music has been having a substantial influence on the Western pop culture. Regarding the issue the listener can perceive ethnic motives coming out of the northern regions of India and influences of Goa trance stranded in the midst of bouncy rhythms and breezy synthesised orchestrations atop. This album could readily be a part of the discography of Ektoplazm, the trance oriented label. Comment: Vietnam-based artist Nguyễn Hồng Nhung aka Sound Awakener takes on an upright acoustic piano to create something inspired and beautiful. The issue starts off with Vibrate which differentiates due to a more buried timbre and sonic vamp. Later on, the artist creates tracks by amplifying them to the edge of distortion and dissonance, or using the sounds of field recording, or adding reverb-heavy spaces, some hissy wisps and stereo tricks to the blend. Nguyễn Hồng Nhung is an endued musician because of being classically educated he has not lost his explorative nature to educational formalism. In fact, these two characteristic vectors do have the same direction thereby resulting in the hitting stomp emotively. More concretely, hilarious moments are variegated with more shadowy glimpses into the soul of piano improvisation. Some tracks might sound in a lo-fi way at times yet it is not something of a lo-fi album because all the layers added to the mix are produced in an adept way. You could call it the knavish lo-fi outing if you wish. On this example the Vietnamese musician`s outing resembles the Swede Oskar Hallbert`s slightly introvertive and hazy compositions. Solid issue indeed.

Comment: Kevan Paul is a composer from Salt Lake City, Utah, USA whose album`s concept was motivated by the economic oppression following the breakdown of Lehman Brothers at the end of the 00s. It caused serious loss to many families around the world many of them lost their homes bought on long-term loan. Furthermore, by conceptual side, the artist argues about the concept of home and alienation of human being from his/her roots. Indeed, we once come out of nature and created civilizations which trapped us. The outlook seems to be even worse – there exist an invisible snowball as an inferior result between economic relations and needs of overpopulated Earth which used to roll further thereby destructing the nature around us and the human being`s soul and mental health. We are being set up to compete with one another rather than collaborate with. The future is dark and getting even gloomier. Musically this 7-track issue is an unwinding one by searching for balance between lone chords, melody leads and orchestrated harmonies. The listener might find out some acquainted shapes from previous cultural discourses – from composers of the movie motion (Ennio Morricone), art music/post-classical scene (Penguin Café Orchestra), and world music oriented compartment (at times loaning from or developing Celtic music motives) and New Age-y electronic ticking. Emotionally it is contemplative and slightly doleful though providing some beatific panoramic and cinematic whiffs which are more ennobling ones. It is a cute soundtrack undoubtedly.

Comment: although these 5 pieces were produced by Christian Zinke already at the end of the 90s the groove passing through the whole is still impressive and resilient. In fact, the issue has been managed to appear quite poorly in diverse activities because the main accent is set upon trancelike guitar pulsations saturated with fluctuating noise feedbacks and some singing here and there. Stylistically it crosses different styles and phases of path-breaking rock music in history. Indeed, mentally it is obsessive and glowering. It might be that Zinke hates and loves simultaneously what he is doing on it because an intention of the righteous rock music combo should be to destroy its aesthetical basement and scaffold. On the other side, Dreist could be interpreted as an example of space rock flow being captured and enchained, however, thereafter resulting in frantic spasms and delirious rattles within the cage (more concretely, it is tagged as psych-rock). By kindred souls I recommend listen to such names as Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Jesus & Mary Chain, CAN, Faust, Velvet Underground, Spacemen 3. Hilarious shit for sure.

Comment: my previous experiences with the discography of the French imprint Myhand.Thanx Records were being related to post-punk-ish yet vanguard sonic forms. However, it was great surprise of mine to find out something totally different. The Serbian Filip Stojiljkovic`s 6-track issue is a source at listening to it you must be stuck into complications. The outing starts off with an intense torrent of harsh noise which later will have dissolved into less straightforward yet even more provoking sonic experiments. FS channels his noise music into more complicated, signal-like appearances and even providing rhythmic threads. Additionally, you can listen to elliptic gurgling being interwoven with vowel layers thereby conjuring fucked-up sensations and frantic mental states. The aesthetic of coverprint of the EP is blurred in the way of reminding of the one by Keith Bowsza aka Minòy, the cultish US-based noisenik and artist (1951-2010) whose experiments with photography were laid down in a similar way.

Comment: CementO`s 4-track issue is based on rave music modifications though providing a more organic, slightly darker approach. On the other side, the listener can discern some hypnotic, even somewhat buried upheavals coming out of the tradition of Detroit techno and electro scene. Moreover, I assume the tension between some cheesy sonic bits and more glowering and gloomy rhythmic structures used to create the welcoming output. In a word, it is a worthy listening.

Comment: these 32 minutes are up to tell a story about Tobakoff, the man with some mystical abilities besides his human-alike traits and self-indulgent appearances. At times it seems to me that Tobakoff is the kind of hero/half deity like someone (Heracles) in the mythology of the ancient Greece. Indeed, at least it seems to me in this way because the main hero is equipped with tremendous proficiency and disparate craftsmanship. The track is accompanied by an endlessly repeated abstract, post-industrial loop which has been managed in a way to change the shape minimally throughout the course. Very interesting.

Comment: I guess to listen to this issue might be hurting to anyone who has lost their relatives and fellowmen in plane crashes. Of course, by doing it without checking out the titles it would be absolutely different case (except the accelerating sounds in the first half of Birds vs Jetengines). Predominantly it is filled with hypnotic techno frequencies though accented with ominous whiffs and alien noises by the Austrian project Crashing Airplane. Given that it is puzzling to say what sonic elements used to be the most essential ones? However, it is not a case in turn. The final track Reaching Planet Earth in Redshift 3-3 is a little bit different case because of relying more on a brooding synth layer rather than on rhythmic progressions. The important thing is the issue is convincing due to slowly developing minutiae and solid sonic pads. The issue is a part of the discogrpahy of a Toulose, France-based record label, Kosmo.

Comment: I can`t stand for those persons` opinion who hyped Animal Collective throughout the 00s but nowadays speaking silly things by accusing the Avey Tare & Panda Bear led combo by introducing naïve and simplistic elements into the pop music. All what has been created by the group throughout the 00s was innovative and spellbinding. Another essential element related to them (basically with them and Devendra Banhart) was to introduce the movement of the so-called New Weird America which had a huge influence on other countries folk musicians either. Eventually we did have a chance to see how much potential could have folk music if to cross it with other genres. Australia is one of those countries wherefrom have come off a loads of groups with tremendous aesthetical ability. For instance, I recommend listen to the compilations of New Weird Australia at Bandcamp to comprehend the phenomenon. The Sydney-based collective Lessons In Time is being active since the second half of 00s and having issued four albums so far (at least more issues I was not personally able to figure out). The combo`s 6-track issue is a relatively short-running one though involving a multitude of twists and undercurrents to undermine a trivial folk music body. From sublime dreamy female vocal led meditations to more noir drenched vocal timbres and guitar experiments to voice machine/vocoder drenched vocal experiments to distorted guitar hook based elevations into noise rock embodiment to compositions let to evolve within open space/nearby the campfire somewhere. Comment: there are up three long-running compositions based on improvised sessions full of feedback fuelled and distortion induced debris. Indeed, as the title assumes this time it is without any word games. Only the artist`s name “Feeel” designates something of an extraordinary brand probably related to overwhelming sensations which have surfaced after the listening of these 35 minutes. At times those more or less acute noise torrents will slightly abate to be replaced with quite dismal emotions conjured up by a mix of nervously plucked guitar chords and taps on the acoustic guitar. The final track Everybody's Talking About the End of the World is more rhythmically oriented on account of heavily distorted electronic/big beat cadences which soon will be modulated into more messy shuffles and later will fade away to symbolically unite the ending point with the beginning one. The second part (more concretely, Act Two) involves buried singing/chanting for providing more living images within the composition. Predominantly the issue is a quicksilver drift between the compartments of improvised noise and experimental rock, at times reaching spiritual climaxes inside each of the pigeonhole, at times providing more transmissive parts. Let`s partake in that monster.

Comment: by exploring the history of popular music you could find out two types of artists related to the space. The first category embraces such artists whose music is being deemed ahead of their time, i.e creating something truly innovative and cutting-edge something as if coming out of the outer space. Another type includes artists who are conceptually being related to the space themes (Sun Ra, Space age pop, Spacemen 3). Usually the artists of the latter type used to relate to the first category either. The Massachusetts, US-based combo StatueOfDiveo`s music is spaced-out as well – as much thematically as sonically. It might be the artist`s sound is more related to different places on Earth rather than with the room outside it. Comment: Deprivation`s album Corona is something about to bring forth an untangled touch between rhythms and upper melodic layers. If the electronic music would be an undomesticated animal with untamed nature and apparent wish to bite you then electronic music would be something like Corona after the training by Deprivation. Comment: first of all I shall have to apologize I have not listened to the first part of Pagan Forest double album yet. It will have done later I promise to you. However, the second part of it consists of 7 long-running compositions drawing on industrial electro and electronic layers. It is saturated with low-slung rhythms which in turn are up to set up the background to ill-omened echoes, crawling synthesizer progressions and green and grey drenched shades as if coming straight out from hell. Gravelly scratchy yet somewhat buried guitars add new colours and patterns to the mix. Additionally you can feel a slight lo-fi/DIY vamp being immersed in the whole in a way. Actually the term “pagan forest” should refer to a place of being quite contrary to the civilization and involves acts being mysterious, sinister and inapprehensible. On the other side, we can perceive such places in our civilization either. Furthermore, any human being`s existence as an example of a small universe embraces also such corners and pigeonholes. However, there are represented examples which used to deviate from the rest – Nantosuelta chimes like a hyper realistic thread being influenced by the New Age music rather than sustained by the tradition of industrial music. Arawn depicts a world where incisive digital droning and infrequent bass drum chords are amplified with concrete music whiffs and even kind of radiophonic experiments (at the end). The issue is a part of the discography of dhatūrā Records, the French label whose 68-notch one seems to be profound and hidden with gems. Comment: oh yeah, it is great delight to arrive at the discography of Bad Panda, the label from Italy which is being a platform for many artists worldwide. If to gather all the tracks the imprint has issued over the years you can constitute a fine playlist for yourself. Furthermore, the record label is being truly popular if to check out the download rates at Soundcloud, and Archive.org. This is not the first entry by Skeleton Zoo (the duo of Steve Goodwin and Ezekiel “Zeek” Barnett from Albany, New York, USA) into the cloud of Recent Music Heroes and it is not surprising at all. For instance, this issue consisting of one track (More Various Flavors of Chip) is a truly mesmerizing one to embark on a new day when you can perceive gentle chilliness and humidity on the grass before the sun will reach the zenith to make them disappear. Sonorously, it is the sort of sample music which runs on touching vocal samples, arousing chord progressions and poignant rhythm shuffles. Believe me the result is truly psychedelic though the ingredients within it even might not to hint at that. Or even might do because som reed organ drones are crossed with ascending orchestrations thereby paving the path for something of a truly panoramic, cinematic and hyper realistic one. in In a word, to cut up and splice the chords and cadences in a proper way – it is the hardest work to do. It is superior beauty as if living in a world depicted on a brochure of the Jehovah`s Witnesses. In a word, it is an example of ideal pop/post-pop.

Comment: primitive patterns and expression language in art could be truly appealing. Wellwellsound`s 6-piece issue which is made up of remixes is this sort of. Actually I have no exact idea why this album chimes in this way as it used to enact. Is it either the case of rough chiptune/8-bit rhythm progressions and clumsy melody shifts or lo-fi/DIY tinged essence of reggae and dub music? By virtue of spaced-out echo/delay effects the music is signally more slowed down than a common videogame issue. However, depending on a particular composition there are up different examples of how the tracks are balanced or more inclined toward one or another. Actually there is represented third element either (on this occasion it is deliberately separated from the chiptune part by my perception) – it is a sort of digital debris which used to appear through minor effects and in the embodiment of subdued noises here and there. Consequently it can be admitted both these compartments do manifest free nature of the human being by creating the music.

Comment: Keyvane Alinaghi aka Hassan K is a French musician of Iranian/Persian heritage whose oeuvre is being influenced by glorious cultural traditions of his native-land and on the other side it involves many the Western/European music elements. In a word, it is a poignant melting pot for arousing your sensations and feels. This time his music is being inspired by Mantiq at-Tayr, a Sufist poem from middle-age Persia. More concretely, the album starts off with To The Raksh Mobile! drawing on moving metal riffs and electronic Middle Eastern melody progressions to be interwoven with one another. 110 Sédâ Kardan is an attention-getting surf attack with spiky brass sections and electronic pins atop. Chrini is a calmed down downbeat progression to provide you a somehow otherworldly feeling. Iran has unfortunately been demonized by the Western media with regard to an alleged nuclear program in recent years. Haji Firuz is something about Persian ethnic music varicoloured with free jazz induced threads and grooves. By listening to this bunch more carefully you can discern even more sublime vamps and effects. Technically the issue is set up with uncommon solutions to create sonorously something refreshing and superior. Comment: Gotikplage was the first nom de plume of Nic Ross, an artist from Whitehouse, Ohio, USA who headed a fine netlabel called Modicum Of Silence which was an outlet for different artists from Whitehouse-environing/Ohio area. Mostly there were up artists who played innovative electronica, folk and rock fuelled music (Telemetrics, Chad Foltz, Kevin McCraney, Tree No Leaves, Abstressionist etc). Maybe the most well-known artist was Brothertiger, who gained enough success at the pinnacle of chillwave/glo-fi/hypnagogic hype. However, this 8-track issue was released when Nic Ross was only 16-year old. We Are Synonymous With Sin is the tight blend of progressive metal, screamo and ambient music elements being accentuated with boldly psychedelic organ sounds and concrete music whiffs at times. Of course, those slowly progressing spaced-out soundscapes are spellbinding ones. At times the listener can feel as if there is raucous screaming balanced with airy sonic pads. All these tendencies would forebode the forthcoming aesthetics of Our Subatomic Earth, Ross` next one-man-project. Yet, Gotikplage`s oeuvre was remarkably more concise because the compositions are particularly short-running, for instance, reaching the mark of 2 minute only on one occasion at here. In a nutshell, these 10 minutes and 40 seconds are thoroughly striking.

Comment: Acid Reflux EP is not the first notch by the London, UK-based project Hanetration at Recent Music Heroes because of being prolific on the average and providing cues how to produce restrained yet evocative music. Indeed, it is music, though, being very far away from possible centres of the pop music (in case if they exist). More profoundly, it is tight flirtation with eerie shadows and abandoned landscapes and metal-filled wastelands and warehouses. Hanetration`s music is an asylum for your dreadful dreams and fantasies, however, being partly unknown and recognisable at the same time. As if one having knowledge about something intimidating one once met and having no wish to fall in with anymore. Sonically, of course, it is wondrous and enthralling – in addition to densely droning landscapes it involves chamber music threads to add something new and thoroughly captivating to the mix. Maybe it is a sort of pop music though. Maybe we should differentiate infantile (pop)/AOR music from essential music? However, both of them need each other to set into opposition and thus preserving the meaning and core of their intention and appearance. Technically, it is permeated with phase changes, pitched-up effects, bits and drones to come slowly to the surface. In a word, get in touch with these spellbinding post-industrial landscapes. Maybe it depicts the era when the human being is extinct due to its obtuseness or more clever and perfect robots will be up there to hold sway over the Earth and preserving other species and Earth in overall. I am quite convinced they will be listening to Acid Reflux EP at the robot oriented radio stations (ROR music) the same time.

Comment: it was many years ago when I ardently argued about outside recorded sounds with my friend. The point was about valuableness of those sounds while you have chance to go out to the nature otherwise. More concretely, how valuable could be the simulacrum in fact? However, my then hostile stance has softened over the years. Furthermore, the field recording compositions are frequently processed and/or blended with artificial sounds and/or conceptually confined to have disparate goal other than just providing an anaemic template from the nature. The Spanish artist of French heritage Philippe Faujas` 19-minute composition involves windy “beats”, crackles, clicks, hits, speech snippets, motorcycle accelerations and bypasses, street noises, the paces of human beings, train induced metronomic “cadences” and so forth. Tongue in cheek, at times the soundscape can be considered the natural kind of glitched-out music because of being tightly wrapped up by a high consistency of hisses and crackles. In a nutshell, it is an interesting alternation to your common listening habits.

Comment: I feel many associations are truly sympathetic considering this 4-track issue. I like the way the electronic sound is being produced nowadays. Just take some samples and rhythmic cadences and process them heavily through the sonic filters and looping machines. For instance, at Eir Eelin` the artist exploits a sample of the doorbell to develop and build up the whole track on it. Secondly, I like the role the women enact in the electronic music today. Vampire Weekend, Julia Holter, Maria Minerva, Laurel Halo etc.  Mila Severtseva, however, can particularly be discriminated in one compartment with such IDM/experimental techno/glitched-out techno artists as Zavoloka, adamned.age, AGF. Thirdly, she comes out of Saint Petersburg, the northern capital of Russia which is a beautiful city. In overall, the electronic music is up there to provide endless possibilities for real and potential musicians nowadays. The other tracks by Severtseva within the EP are embellished with clockwork-alike sounds and lethargic rhythms in abstract terms or running quite balmy though often wound up with machine gun near frequencies and glitched-out threads which are emphatically twisted from its original bits. Dig out this nascent EP for yourself and your neighbours.

Comment: Nienvox is an one-man producer from Yekaterinburg, Russia whose sound is very symptomatic to characterize a tendency in the music world during the last ten years. The Russian musician`s sound is composed of a pile of elements of jazz, electronica, indie pop, and and chill out sound. It is pre-dominantly instrumental though involving some samples from the motion pictures. Frequently there are up two layers of sounds with purpose to accentuate the contrast between them and then bridge them. More profoundly, lo-fi tinged rhythms are counterpointed with cinematic synth progressions or orchestrated clouds atop. His technical aesthetics comes out of heavy sample processing and mixtape presence and on the other side there have relentlessly been turning up viable impulses from the past by inspiring musicians to create something truly breath-taking and wondrous. In fact, it does not make difference to analyse is his 4-track composition either more artsy inflicted or mood music induced. It is a natural part of development of things the artist is being related to such music records (Bump Foot, Pop Errors Gallery and Dusted Wax Kingdom) who have contributed to popularize such sort of sound described above. In a word, it is a great outing to accompany your late nights and early mornings.

Comment: undoubtedly Thomas Park aka Mystified (also known as Autocad, Mister Vapor) is being one of the most known web/net audio veterans who has been creating music since the first half of the 00s. His tenure might only be comparable with Dave Keifer aka Cagey House in this compartment. There is up one long-running composition, having a length of 20 minutes and 54 seconds. By listening to it the listener can perceive that such a kind of ambient drone and dark ambient music could be truly emotive. Maybe even the most arousing music produced around him/her. It does not particularly speak about love between people which might frequently turn into a buzz word only. It does not particularly speak love for God which might frequently be subliminal. It is all about warm sounds to surface and conjoin with one another step by step. More concretely, it is about hisses and microscopic noises, it is all about restrainedly progressing whistling impulses here and there which are to get in touch with the concrete music sounds (some buried rhythms resemble the locomotive`s wheel-induced frequencies) in the second part. At times these sounds are counterpointed with magically haunting orchestrated clouds coming from nowhere, then sustaining and fading out. Emotionally these 1254 seconds are positive ones although the objects speculatively denoted over there might be ominous and venomous (of course, I don`t concretely focus upon such majestic creatures as the snakes). I mean mystified creatures spawned in the human being`s mind and soul with purpose to broaden our inner and outer space and then conquer it. Don`t forget – the human being needs actually wilderness and space (without being changed it into places totally) around him/her. Space is actually not equal to place. The former is tremendously more high-powered and divine. As she/he needs it she/he needs Mystified-kind sound either (although he/she might not be aware of it in fact). In a nutshell, get this gem to fulfil one of your most essential needs. By the way, conceptually the issue is related to Park`s first outing Cardboard Hotel EP on the Webbed Hand imprint in 2004.
