Juan Rodriguezi (JR) "Forhouse"-nimeline EP, mis on ilmunud Kolumbia netiplaadifirma Monofónicose alt, tõmbab kohe esimese loo ekstaatiliste vokaalinäidetega käima --lakkamatult sosiskledes nüüd ja hiljem „come on, come on“ ja "can you feel" -- toores, sisuliselt hõimuenergia urbanistlikus hilisõhtuvööndis, mis süütab tantsupõranda leekidesse. Nende peale on kihistatud ühelt poolt süvahausi nakatatud õhulised süntesaatorihelid ning soojad, kergelt teadvust nihestavad klaveriakordid ja -arpedžod -- säherdused, mis tunduvad päikesevalguse soojendava läikena märjal betoonil kell 5 suvehommikul pärast emotsionaalselt tühjaks tõmmanud pidu. Külmatunne ihus ja tühjus hinges, mis tasapisi hakkab päikese kõrgemale tõustes hajuma. Ometi keeldub EP jäämast puhtalt unistavaks, tuues esile teravamad tehnilised elemendid: karge, kergelt metalne löökpillirütmika kõikumas pendlina muutliku energia saatel, lõigates läbi ajuudu kirurgilise täpsusega. See kontrast õnnestab kogu projekti kauni ja liigutava dünaamikaga -- see hingab ja pulseerib elava organismina, pidevalt eufooria ja kerge pinge vahel nihkudes ja niheledes. See pinge kehastab ideaalselt selle muusika igavest küsimust: kuidas eristada tech-house'i pumpavat pakilisust süvahausi veeldatud unenäolisusest? JR näib sellele vastavat, samas keeldudes valimast. Ta lihtsalt laseb kahel teineteisse seguneda -- esimese hoovused annavad struktuuri ja edasiviiva liikumise, samas kui süvahausi hingestatus hoiab vaibi hõljuva ja emotsionaalsena. Tulemus on hüpnootiline ja mõjus: piisavalt kaasahaarav, et kehi liigutada, piisavalt atmosfääriline, et meeli võluda. Siin on murdumist, siin on moondumist. 8.5 (8.5-9.0)

Comment: this 3-track issue is a decent one thanks to techno and house rhythms mixing and roomy and lush synthesizer based drawings atop. The first track Hervor is a solid example of deep house music – incorporating a soulful touch and velvety vision to it and Memorias on the other side is clearly a tech-house issue. There is also represented M.A.L.A remix of the last one merging predominant tech-house elements with some deep house glimpses. The issue is released on a Medellin, Colombia based label, Monofònicos whose discography includes many superb music issues. It is very recommended for those people who like sapid club dance music.

Comment: this batch of 4 pieces is a poignant dub and club dance mixed whole. Catchy, even funky rhythms are varied or blended with lofty synth swirls, spacey hisses and hypnotic, repetitive beats and shadowy bubbling. Generally the release involves a pair of original tracks and two covers of one of the original compositions, entitled as the self-titled one. Behind Vandelklang hides himself Camilo Naranjo, a producer from Medellin, Colombia. Whose eyes and moustache are seen on the picture?

Comment: this set of 6 tracks consists of fabulous house vibes filled in with repetitive rhythms and soothing plateaus. Deep carvings are varied with more uplifting, electro-tinged ones. However, every original track does include remix version either. This issue of contemporary disco music (or the sort of dream pop for disco music) is released on Monofonicos, a decent label from South America. Recommended to all and for any time, pertaining to visceral parts and brain-related parts of the body. Relieving and freeing.

Comment: Santiago Merino & Miguel Isaza have created a seamless blend precessing around the axis of techno rhythm sequences (which are obviously dub-inflected at times) and more or less dystopic electro-acoustic ambiances/soundscapes and heavily drilling industrial-soaked sonic effects (hiss-drenched vapour, croaks, murky reverberation, squeaking bits-bats). In a word, the whole is subjected to an algorithm of permanent changes and disillusioned gradients.

Comment: This release from Medellin (Colombia) makes up much sympathy over you. Being embellished with confident cadences of tech-house and dub-house, brooding mid-tempo and at times minimal slow-tempo beats, Universos EP seems to be masterfully variegated and balanced in any cases. It reminds of those listening times of radio shows in the evenings in ending part of the 90`s. Half of the tracks are original, half of them are remixes. Indeed, it is genuine satifactory in its rhythm connections and mood interactions.
