Comment: Bradford Cox was back in his hometown Athens, Georgia, USA to perform at a club on the last day of the 00s. The set embraces 10 tracks within a 83-minute. It is an impressive, even dreamy live through improvised songwriting based on noisy outbursts, loopy ambient and space pop chords and rough guitar-based tour de forces as if backed up by an adept guitar hero. Mellow and rough segments used to collide with one another yet all of that does not create some sort of incongruousness to minimize the effect of the whole set. He searches for silence after a noisy outburst, and vice versa. However, those noisy appearances are the best part of the live because by immersing in it one can find out some sort of oblivion In fact, it reflects very exactly upon a human being`s life experience with intention to get fulfilled with positive impulses and get satisfied based on rejecting negative memories and forgetting adverse experiences. The first song was dedicated to Vic Chesnutt who had committed suicide 6 days before. The live set is presented via Southern Shelter.

Monade - Variety Playhouse 2005-05-25 (2005)

/Indie pop, Alternative pop, Psychedelic pop, Drone pop, Dream pop. Live session/

Comment: Monade is a musical project from Bordeaux, France whose spiritual leader is Laetitia Sadier who is widely known as the singer, guitarist, keyboard player from Stereolab. Furthermore, it could be without to draw parallels with her more known combo. This live gig features 12 tracks at a length of 64 minutes. It involves a soup of guitar and psychedelic keyboard blended sounds getting inspiration from the rhythm patterns of artsy German rockers like Neu!, and Faust and other side being influenced by tropicalia pop, bossa nova, and lounge pop. If to compare it to Stereolab it involves less crossover and electronic experiments rather being channelized into a mellow indie/renaissance pop structure. On the other side, it reminds of an early Stereolab which provided more clear-cut ditty shapes of indie/drone pop/shoegaze. In a word, it is a fine listening hour.

Atlas Sound - 2012-06-22 Athfest Main Stage - Athens, GA (2012)

/Indie rock, Indietronica, Americana, Dream pop, Live session, Chamber pop, Folk indie, Singer-songwriter, Indie folk/

Comment: Bradford James Cox is a name which apparently does need no introducing to the indie audience worldwide. Through his participation of being the singer and frontman of spaced-out experimental/psych/shoegaze rock band Deerhunter and creating more electronica and string mixed spacey Americana music under the moniker Atlas Sound he has been a pioneer in a new wave of modern indie combos since the mid of 00s. To a wider audience he is now known as an actor thanks to the film Dallas Buyers Club. This is Cox`s a hour long live set in his domestic Athens, Georgia, USA. The whole is enchantingly dream-filled and hypnotic full of continuous delays, astral singing and vowel effects and daydreamy strumming. There is just one man with the guitar, harmonica, and electronics on the stage. Highly recommended.
