Seetyca & Christian Doil – Bilder Einer Ausstellung (2017)

  • Electro-acoustic
  • Ambient drone
  • Dark ambient
  • Electronic music
  • Sound art
  • Experimental electronica
  • Minimalism
  • Avant-electronica
  • Ambient
  • Microtonal
  • Drone

Kaks kogenud elektroonikut Saksamaalt (Thüringen'i ja Mainz'i linnast), kelle split-album sisaldab kokku 13 lugu. Albumi on välja andnud Buddhist On Fire.

Lezet – Accumulation (2014)

/Experimental electronica, Ambient, Ethnotronica, Glitchtronica, Rocktronica, Modern classical, Musique concrète, Crossover, Abstract, Avant-garde/

Comment: Lezet is a very prolific artist from Serbia who has issued approximately 70 albums so far. Accumulation is a short-running issue (ending at the length of 20.56) but it justifies its name because many elements used to surface throughout the course. One could hear mandatory experimental electronic developments, glitched-out noises, and even world music infected motives and sultry rhythms of rock music are represented over there. At times his progressions used to turn into an abstract one – for instance, Bezoar is one of such sort of tracks where vocal loops are slightly shifted against each other to create an indecipherable message and culminate into noisy torrents at the end of the composition. Rain is a fragile modern classical piece saturated with a heavy raining sample. The result is dreamy and giving one a cozy corner to freshen /himself/herself up in his/her haste. Indeed, Lezet exploits samples now and then to saturate his soundscape. In a word, it is a thoroughgoing exertion with many interesting moments. The issue is a notch in the discography of Buddhist On Fire.

Luciftias - Dronosphere III Transcension (2014)

/Drone, Abstract, Epic, Soundscapes, Drone rock, Dronegaze, Avant-garde, Dark ambient, Experimentalism, Minimalism/

Comment: undoubtedly La Monte Young and his comrades have much contributed to the development and broadening of sense of music. The tentacles of drone music can be found from everywhere today – from academic circuits and black metal and doom metal to more pop infected genres. However, by speaking about Luciftias` 70-minute composition it is problematic to generalize it – is it whether drone induced rock music or drone music with some influences pulled out from the experimental rock scene. However, it does make no sense because the main point reflects upon inability to differ audible sounds from inaudible ones whether being generated by the listener`s fondness to conjure up sounds or just produced by their imagination. Less is more does not mean it is somehow simplistic or inferior. In a word, the result is bewildering and spellbinding full of epic crescendos and swells for your pleasure. Mundane meets divine, rough meets sublime.

Scott Lawlor - The Absence of Light Contains The Shadow of Loss (2014)

/Dark ambient, Minimal, Drone, Dystopbient, Neoclassical, Microtonal, Ambient drone/

Comment: throughout these 71 minutes will happen quite less due to Scott Lawlor`s keenness to truly minimal aesthetics based on slightly gloomy progressions within ambient and drone music compartment. At times the scape is embellished with some half-orchestrations and buried crescendos. By conceptual side the whole is soaked with heavy matter of darkness and mourning. For instance, very characteristic are all the titles of this 4-track giant - A Gradual Descent Into the Chamber of Darkness, A Dream of Beauty is an Illusion in a Life of Loss, Beauty is Found in Melancholy, Cathedral of Pain and Grief . The compositions laid out in the middle rely on cathedral organ created sequences. Stylistically it used to sway somewhere in between neoclassical, drone and ambient music doing it in a slow mode. In a nutshell, there are only a couple of possibilities for the listener – it is either depressive and psychically teasing or beatific in its stark grief and overwhelmingly striking melancholy.

Jarguna & Uzbazur345 - Oscure Presenze (2013)

9.7

/Abstract, Ambient, Microtonal, Dystopbient, Minimalism, Soundscapes, Kosmische Musik/

Comment: by listening to this 2-track composition the listener can feel him/herself to be laid back or sitting on the board of a space shuttle while perceiving the hiss of the motion at the highest speed. More profoundly, the first piece Post Tenebris expands step by step into the ghastly void/nothingness wrapped up in barely audible shadows and shades, though, the second track Sine Lumine involves the subdued moans of ghosts, torrent of treated sounds of the downfall, the drip of water and glacial glimpses overhead. Sometimes some parts of Jarguna & Uzbazur345`s soundscapes seem to be light, at times quite intense and overwhelming. Even punching. Behind the album are a pair of experienced composers from Italy, Simone Santarsiero, and Marco Billi. By kindred, abstract and space ambient souls I recommend to listen to Cold Womb Descent, Jeff Sampson, Scott Lawlor, Alio Die, Jari Pitkänen. In a nutshell, it is a simply superb experience. And visit other artists at the site of Buddhist on Fire either.
