Dead Voices White Noise (2011)

/Glitchtronica, Noise, Experimental electronica, Drone, Post-industrial, Avant-electronica, Non-music, Musique concréte, Acousmatic music, Leftfield, Microtonal, Illbient/

Comment: this handful of tracks is an issue in a long row of albums hinting at the fact how emotive could electronic music be even if it is made up of incisive material and noisy impulses. Why it seems to be in this way? Maybe it is so because of superimposing these sonic elements upon the mess and chaos of real life. Maybe it is so because of creating more arousing simulacra instead of the more disillusioned aspects in real life. In a word, to provide more hope and redemption to people who are listening to the issue. You can hear the trains arriving at a train station, you might hear unknown creatures being involved in indecipherable activities, you could hear sounds providing a viable platform for your phantasies and fictions. More importantly, you could hear intriguing sounds over there to broaden your universe and open some doors in your perception. Dead Voices White Noise is a compilation by justnotnormal Record label providing a chance to design the aforementioned patterns to such artists as Somnaphon, Controlled Dissonance, Pyne, Miquel Parera Jaques, and Plastic Love Tool.

Deprivation – Corona (2013)

/Breaks, Acid jazz, Chill out, Mood music, Chilltronica, Downbeat, Nu jazz/

Comment: Deprivation`s album Corona is something about to bring forth an untangled touch between rhythms and upper melodic layers. If the electronic music would be an undomesticated animal with untamed nature and apparent wish to bite you then electronic music would be something like Corona after the training by Deprivation. More concretely, frequently rhythmic shuffles are embellished with mellow electronic/acid jazz whiffs as if a gentle breeze coming out of somewhere to caress your ears and tranquilize your hot-headed temper. Although there is represented a bunch of 8 tracks in total all of that results in a seamless flow of music without any substantial turns and forays. In true, piano chords are variegated with some excited breakbeat/jungle rhythms but it is something about to happen incessantly thereby being an essential part of the outing. It might be the title track conjures difference due to creating a feeling as if you`re walking through the streets in Paris. In a word, listen to it and get a part of it.

My Own Cubic Stone – Pagan Forest – Part 2 (2014)

/Industrial, Avant-garde, Industrial electro, Musique concrète, Martial industrial, Illbient, Dark electronica, New Age, Experimentalism, Leftfield, Neoclassical/

Comment: first of all I shall have to apologize I have not listened to the first part of Pagan Forest double album yet. It will have done later I promise to you. However, the second part of it consists of 7 long-running compositions drawing on industrial electro and electronic layers. It is saturated with low-slung rhythms which in turn are up to set up the background to ill-omened echoes, crawling synthesizer progressions and green and grey drenched shades as if coming straight out from hell. Gravelly scratchy yet somewhat buried guitars add new colours and patterns to the mix. Additionally you can feel a slight lo-fi/DIY vamp being immersed in the whole in a way. Actually the term “pagan forest” should refer to a place of being quite contrary to the civilization and involves acts being mysterious, sinister and inapprehensible. On the other side, we can perceive such places in our civilization either. Furthermore, any human being`s existence as an example of a small universe embraces also such corners and pigeonholes. However, there are represented examples which used to deviate from the rest – Nantosuelta chimes like a hyper realistic thread being influenced by the New Age music rather than sustained by the tradition of industrial music. Arawn depicts a world where incisive digital droning and infrequent bass drum chords are amplified with concrete music whiffs and even kind of radiophonic experiments (at the end). The issue is a part of the discography of dhatūrā Records, the French label whose 68-notch one seems to be profound and hidden with gems. Actually it is a tremendous source for any music lover who is addicted to neoclassical/martial industrial/neofolk sounds. Let`s explore these slits!

Skeleton Zoo - [BadPanda118] Skeleton Zoo (2012)

/Mood music, Post-pop, Sampledelic, Cinematic, Glo-fi, Electronica, Chilltronica, Dreamwave, Breaks, Epic/

Comment: oh yeah, it is great delight to arrive at the discography of Bad Panda, the label from Italy which is being a platform for many artists worldwide. If to gather all the tracks the imprint has issued over the years you can constitute a fine playlist for yourself. Furthermore, the record label is being truly popular if to check out the download rates at Soundcloud, and Archive.org. This is not the first entry by Skeleton Zoo (the duo of Steve Goodwin and Ezekiel “Zeek” Barnett from Albany, New York, USA) into the cloud of Recent Music Heroes and it is not surprising at all. For instance, this issue consisting of one track (More Various Flavors of Chip) is a truly mesmerizing one to embark on a new day when you can perceive gentle chilliness and humidity on the grass before the sun will reach the zenith to make them disappear. Sonorously, it is the sort of sample music which runs on touching vocal samples, arousing chord progressions and poignant rhythm shuffles. Believe me the result is truly psychedelic though the ingredients within it even might not to hint at that. Or even might do because som reed organ drones are crossed with ascending orchestrations thereby paving the path for something of a truly panoramic, cinematic and hyper realistic one. in In a word, to cut up and splice the chords and cadences in a proper way – it is the hardest work to do. It is superior beauty as if living in a world depicted on a brochure of the Jehovah`s Witnesses. In a word, it is an example of ideal pop/post-pop.
