Younnat - Duct (2007)

Comment: if you are intended to search for poignant kind of loung/easy listening then Oleg Serdyuk aka Younnat`s music is one of the most reliable candidates for it. Duct was Serdyuk`s debut release (before he was known as the keyboard player in the line-up of Lюk (or Lyuk) from Kharkiv, Ukraine) issued both on Bump Foot, and Planear Records. More profoundly, you can enjoy enormously catchy surfing on retrodelic harmonies and frequent rotation of motives which at times resemble another slavic group, Messer Für Frau Müller, though, Younnat used to be unprovided with black humor. Anyway, the concluding track Djedai Arkadyi seems to exploit Los Kjarkas`s Llorando se fue (which was popularized by a cover of Kaoma, called Lambada).

Comment: a single accomplished with a pair of remixes. Gloomy, glacial glow-alike techno music which, on the other side, provides a bouncy, crispy feeling. While it sounds almost like an instance of the vibes of dance club-centered deep techno it outreaches the boundaries of it due to dystopic seeds within it.

Comment: Oleg Serdyuk, a stubborn musician from Ukraine has issued a handful of releases on Kahvi, and Bump Foot Records. While his previous albums were essentially light-hearted, trilling and easily listenable, those ones did not allude to any sort of casualness or unpretentiousness (the negativity/positivity of the last mentioned concept depends on a certain context, though). In fact, all is very fine on it. However, Bioelectronica tends to chug on toward a more broad aesthetic approach, incorporating abrasive, even slaughtering glares of electronica, and chiptune-esque bits and bleeps and churned jungle and techno pop beats meanwhile or in the midst of the concept.

Comment: Music is my radar, maybe you can remember for this way titled track by Blur from 2000? Or does it have a hint at Warren Defever`s salient project on the other side? No problems because of Oleg Serdyuk aka Younnat`s music has been my torch during the last weeks. Likely to his previous workouts (Duct; Radiovision), however it used to be the highly uplifting bumping throughout its course, toying with mesmerizing synth harmonies and melancholically retrodelic motives and propulsive paces (from tranquil electronic beats to high-energized stomping breakbeats) off to create a crafty template for the easy listening scene.

Nameless Dancers Morning Touches (Bump Foot)


Nameless Dancers`i taga on Jevgeni Haritonov, Moskva underground-sügavuste üks võtmefiguure, kirjanik, kultuuriaajakirjanik, ürituste kuraator, kes on osaline ansamblites-projektides Microbit Project, EugeneKha, Yoko Absorbing ning teinud ka muusikat oma pärisnime all. Kui kellegi kohta võiks muusikalises plaanis kasutada iseloomustust "mitmekülgsus", siis on see tema - muusik Jumala armust. Avangardrokk ja eksperimentaalne elektroonika (glitchtroonika, lobit/drone), ambient, noise, downtempo, chillout, sound-art, sound collage.

Nameless Dancers`i esimene album "Cloudy Coffee" (2009, 45RPM-Records) oli sulnis (disco) house- ja drum and bass-rütmidega lounge-muusika, postmodernistlik easy listening. Haritonov ei oleks tema ise, kui ta ei üritaks põhituuma tsentrist väljapoole nihutada.

"Morning Touches" suudab eelnevast eristuda konkreetsete aktsentide poolest. Venelane ei ole teinud saladust sellest, et käesolev projekt on "olevikuväline" - muusika on inspireeritud 80ndate lõpu Nõukogude värvikirevast ning uhkeldavast graafilisest disainist. Kui muusikat teha, siis kas nostalgiapilguga minevikku või siis aimamisi tulevikku, vältimaks oleviku närvilisust. Käesoleval albumil on glamuurne transformatsioon helisse realiseeritud. Disco house-biidid on asendunud kinemaatilistema rütmidega, ajatut sentimenti on enam. Sound collage`i skeemid on selgelt välja joonistunud. Siin on Nõukogude-aegset psühhedeelset oreligruuvi, atmosfäärilist futupoppi, italo disco`t, bigbändide vahemereäärseid helesiniseid heiastusi ning latiinorütme. Kohati muutub helikeel üdini kergeks, ülenedes oma naiivsuses. Täna oli õhus tunda kevadist hingust ning "Morning Touches" sobitus sellega paganama hästi. Tõepoolest, kevade rütmika - pidev muutumine ootamatutes suundades.
