Comment: there are presented 4 pieces by Matthew David Rowan which used to be the improvised instrumental ones, however, where silentful drifts are variegated with exciting turns and flamboyant outbursts. More surprisingly, now and then (the second part) it chimes like a sort of fusion sound made up of the indie folkies` gliding explorations, jazz rock-esque mellow vibes and even post-rock-alike omnipotent sonic grandeur. In a word, MDR`s soundscape flourishes because it used to be lush at any moment throughout the course. Well done by any means. Love it.

Comment: this 5-track album is one of the examples which does convey some hints at flamboyant power related to the Canadian indie scene. This Montrèal-based combo offers up highly chiming guitar structures and infinite chord changes adorned with the whiffs of dilating synth endeavours and daringly gliding yet longing vocal lines over them. I would like to call this kind of music a sort of glo-rock which is thought to be an entertainment subject for slackers and dalliers. In a word, cheers to the big masses, here we come!

Comment: indeed, it is one of those many sessions improvised by Golda, McConeghy, and Rogers by the side of East Lansing, Michigan, USA which all are available at Archive.org. Before starting as starstarstar the trio was being known as ringostar, and ***. Regarding the session most of the pieces originate from starstarstar`s sole album and masterpiece Electric Goose and The Nylon Moose (on fabulous Rack & Ruin Records) which is an extraordinary but underrated (if not to say a yet undiscovered one) gem within the New Weird America scene involving the elements of quirky folk, heartfelt soul, halcyon electronic experiments, dreamy incantations, and exuberant Americana progressions. The music which reflects back to the past and forth to the future at the same time. The session of 10 tracks surprises with some unknown compositions. I really hope they are intended to come back sometime and ready to record at least one more album yet. Additionally I recommend listen to Chad Golda`s avant-garde solo albums either (on Rack & Ruin, and Writing Records).

Comment: there are up 2 notches based on rigid but fast electro and tekno/gabber mixed beats, tingling synth oscillations and sharp vocal samples. Indeed, the pair of tracks is deliberately minimal, though, the second track (Gabber In Psychedeliya) does have more time and diapason to get more involved in shuffled and variegated patterns on rhythms.

Comment: this issue by Bas Welling aka Neurobit consists of one lengthy composition only. More concretely, there are up approximately 1200 seconds at which the listener can discern different parts which are brought forth due to incessant progressions. A particular amount of chords are channelized into soothing undulations and reaching the borders of otherworldly beatific spheres. However, these lucid synth undercurrents (actually they are rather overcurrents) and silentfully ticking, vibraphone-near electronica which is set subtly between the lines comes quite close to the aesthetics of early Mice Parade, Tortoise, and The Dylan Group. The finishing part of the track will be evolving step by step into an instance of pronounced drone pop full of poignant shapes and austere yet epic outbursts (comparable with such contemporary projects as Oneothrix Point Never, and Emeralds, and The Silver Apples by the 1960s).
