Comment: Introduction to Analog Synthesis was a lecture performed at the Pocono Skies festival at the Shawnee Playhouse, Pennsylvania, USA in the Pocono mountains in the Spring of 2010. This one-off festival featured performances, collaborations, workshops and lectures over the two day festival weekend. Richard Lainhart presented this lecture Saturday afternoon May 16th, 2010 to a crowd of enthusiastic synthesists and electronic musicians. More profoundly, the particular constituents, basic parts and technics (sine waves, amplifiers, amplitude, sawtooth waves, envelope effects, oscillators, the types of noise and sonic filters, square wave, pitch effects etc) of sound synthesis are showcased throughout the course of a hour, however, all these details are exemplified by the sounds of soft synths which do emulgate exactly the sounds of analog synthesizers. However, the listener is backed up by hints of how to produce electronic music. A label, called Ethereal Live, dedicated the issue in honour of Richard Lainhart (February 14, 1953 - December 30, 2011). Mandatory by any senses.
