YALL - They’ll Say We’re Only Dreaming (2012)

/Math rock, Hardcore, Noise rock, Experimental rock, Emo rock, Crossover/
Comment: this release of 7 notches (spreaded out over 15 minutes) is mainly made up of songs that the duo line-upped with Travis Franklin (guitars), and Andy Richardson (drums)(originating from Texas, USA) had written over the past 6 months. One of them, Blastocyst, is one that was written 2 years ago and the duo decided to rework and use it on it. They recorded the album in their rehearsal space which is located in an abandoned office building in Round Rock, Texas. However, the result is a potent blast where the main template involves the elements of rattling math rock, obsessive noise rock mixed up with the vapour of biting hardcore, and emo rock. All of that is made up with a formidable amount of energy. The outlet is very promising indeed.
The Whatevers - All Your Indie Heroes (2012)

/Alternative pop/rock, Twee pop, Indie rock, Garage rock, DIY/
Comment: undoubtedly the aesthetics of Mike Relton, and Kate Bisson aka the Whatevers is intriguing and exciting by any means. The duo from UK fuses hirsute guitar lines with dreamy, female vocal lines where the shades of garage rock are tightly interlaced with 80`s blonde hair indie rock and twee pop seeds. Truly suggestive songs - listen to Violence For Northern Independence, You Can Hold My Hand, and Bedhead, for instance. Never mind, all the songs on it are astonishing ones, filled in with sonorous (at times heartbreaking) tissues and formidable harmonies. Of course, their lyrics is poisoned with gritty angst and it`s very ok.
Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (2011)

Comment: behind these relatively long-running compositions is Will Toledo, a youngster from Williamsburg, USA. Toledo`s compositions consist of loose guitar twangs and hums, exulting highly reverberating singing manner and more or less treated guitar processing and some effects. At Twin Boys (Those Boys) Toledo plays on psychedelic-heavy organs. In a word, these 10 tracks deserve to be listened for because it is rock`n`roll.

Comment: FIP, a Britain-based sextet have just issued a brand new release, called Richie Lee Jones EP but Bratislava EP is their previous one. The parcel consists of a handful, convincing ditties taking on sonorous but a little bit melancholic twee/indie pop soaked melodic hooks and harmonious turns. Slowly surfing guitar chords are variegated with the shuffle of drum brush sticks and suggestive trumpet gliding. The listener can draw parallels upon the roster of Sarah Records and on the other side wave to the US-based alt-country folk movements.

Sekotis - People In Grass Houses (2010)

/Post-rock, Krautrock, Experimental indie, Alternative dance, Avant-rock, Electronic pop, Experimental rock, Shoegazetronica/
Comment: behind Sekotis is Tom Stokes, a Wolverhampton, UK-based musician who fuses electronic undercurrents with indie and post-rock endeavours. At PIGH he demonstrates a diverse array of tendencies extending from slightly glowering krautrock-ish vibes and grooves (Littlefield) and slowly straggling pop experiments to more flourishing dance appealed undertakings (Black Sand). Indeed, Stokes rock off in a profound and broad way. His music can be compared to the likes of Harmonia, Superficial Random Knowledge Porridge, Seefeel, Neu!, Simon Bird, Weird Ribs, Fuck Buttons, and Mark Van Hoen.
Open Work Stocking - Guanine (2009)

/IDM, Organic electronica, Glo-fi, Glitch ambient, Chillwave, Modern classical, Electronic pop, Poptronica, Crossover/
Comment: OWS is a producer from Saint Petersbourg/Sankt Peterburg, Russia who fuses IDM, glo-fi/chillwave, glitch ambient, and modern classical-loaded tendencies into an uplifting whole. These 6 compositions used to run along the lush paths and uplifting curves, and on the other side, being melancholic at times. Now and then the ditties chime like the orchestrations which seem to get inspired by the chirps of grasshoppers. Yet, there are a pair of outstanding tracks amongst the pearls. Forgotten Feelings uses an unforgettable motif, and the title song which is an amazingly intense noise-drenched modern classical looming. Feel it, love it!
