A Warmth on ühemeheprojekt, mille tagant leiame isiku nimega Robby Massey, kes on ka ainuosaline seesugustes projektides nagu dessktop, species, Walton Roberts, Jr. ning r m a s s e y. Ilmselt tuntuim projektidest ongi dessktop, mis aitas mitme üllitisega taastoota lo-fi esteetikat plaadifirma Rack & Ruin vahendusel (2008-2011). "Dearth" oli järg 10 aastat varem ilmunud albumile "Hearth", pakkudes võrreldes dessktop'i miniatuursuse ja maalähedase abstraktsusega märksa ekspressiivsemat helindit. Kuigi 6-looline teos algab sissepoole pööratud pomina, kergelt resoneeruva hõrgu droonimise ja väljavenitatud üksildaste akordidega, siis orelid üürgavad siin (valjemalt), elektriklaveri akordid on küpsemad, väljendusrikkamad ja konkreetsemad, (kohati) lood ülenevad veerand- ja poolsümfooniateks, milledes võib kuulda eri valentse; võimendatakse kajasid ruumi võimalike piirideni. Muusikule meeldib tembutada, lugude struktuuri siia-sinna sikutada – meenub (justnimelt kohe) Damon Albarn, kes pea igal Blur'i albumil mängis klahvpillidel mõne äraspidise loogikaga lookese või vahepala. Teisalt dessktop'ile omast konarlikku äraolemist- ja kadumist võib jätkuvalt tajuda siin-seal. Ja loomulikult ka niinimetatud pärishelid on siin helilabürintides ekslemas. USA projekti CLOUDWARMER'iga on tõstatunud paar küsimust – kas tegu on endiselt duoga (Eddie Palmer, Brett Zehner) ja kas nende muusika on jätkuvalt üksnes teiste muusikale-sämplitele üles ehitatud? Isegi kui Eddie Palmer on jäänud üksinda tegevaks, siis kvalitatiivne tase olemasolevate elementidega albumist albumisse opereerides on niivõrd stabiilne ja kõrge, et võiks vabalt tehisintellektile albumi loomise elemendid sisse sööta, et genereerida uus väljalase. Nagu netiavarustes on aastaid teinud Thomas Park ja djezmusic (tõsi, pean tunnistama, et ei ole algoritmilise ja generatiivse muusika (deterministlikku) erinevust veel lõpuni selgeks mõelnud – juhul muidugi kui nad üks-üheselt kokku ei lange). Huvitav oleks teada, kuidas tehisintellekt teisendab hip-hop'i ja trip-hop'i rütmid, ämbientsed lainetused ning suitsuse jätsu helialged uueks teoseks. Kes teab, võib-olla on tulemus sama piinav kui loksuda bussiga aeglase sõiduki sabas lubatud 100km/h sõidualas. Või siis on tulemus taevalik – tjah, taevalikke albumeid on varemgi sadu loodud, ebaõnnestunuid kordades rohkem (mõttetu klišee, mis midagi ei ütle). See 10-looline üllitis on küllalt kosutav, sügav ja ulakas – keerab gruuvidele poolteisekordse vindi pääle, jätsuvinjetid viirgavad sügavuti, psühhedeelia osutab siin varaseimatele mälestustele ja ähmastele kogemustele, mis ujuvad kokku-lahku niivõrd kuivõrd kuulaja jääb anamneesi ja hajuva vahele lõksu (muusikavärk põhineb samuti meenutamise ja unustamise vahele kinnikiilumises); isegi kui siin puudub duo The Fucked Up Beat'i aegne maavälistel fenomenidel põhinev vandenõuteoreetiline ruudustik. Pealkiri osutab eitusele – negatsioonile, mis samas võimalikkusena on alati olemas. Näiteks see, mida väidetakse mitte olevat – kas see loogiliselt ei tõstatu olemise sfääri? See, mida ei eksisteeri, seda ei saa lausuda. Siin lausutakse, siin ollakse. Ka "hiti" nimega "Revenant" leiame albumilt.
