Comment: oh yeah, this rally of 37 minutes is a pure jolly time for all those who like sea songs (indeed, all 13 ditties are nominally and substantially related to the sea). Yes, but. Just stop for a minute! The songs are not traditional marine ones because they are imbued with quirky (sonic) jokes and unexpected turns and exaggerated threads. Moreover, it can be readily said it is an example of cutting-edge folk music. As if being produced by innovators like Panda Bear, or Avey Tare while being intoxicated after having been sitting in the pub for hours. Windsurfin` Baby is a crooked tribute to Animal Collective undoubtedly. Indeed, you can feel the smell of whiskey, the odour of tobacco, the eventful history of nearby coast. For sure, the collective does not acknowledge any rules by adding disparate and torn elements inside the melting pot. Surf rock-induced whirlpools meet short waves coming obviously from the sea, hirsute sea-dog`s singing used to encounter with twisted, intermittent samples while the tempo is variegated. Buffoonish singing and zany chanting-speaking are slightly haphazardly laid on each other or followed by one another. Music hall and tongue-in-cheek and theatrical approach used to be 3 in 1. Yeah, get into it! Highly recommended.
