[Teaser of the day] Freelove Fenner - Out of Town

Clockwork Keyboard - Clock Soup For Cooked Airports (2012)

9.4

/DIY, Lo-fi, Psychedelic, Drone, Ambient, Deep house, Noise, Improvised music, Lobit, Experimentalism, Avant-garde/

Comment: I guess everyone who has listened to the likes of an early Cabaret Voltaire and other then-old school industrial experimentators, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, library music tapes, some early albums by The Hirundu (headed up by John Crewdson), more poppier R Stevie Moore and Ariel Pink and Rangers and Ducktails is able to understand the aesthetics of Clockwork Keyboard which is the collaboration act between Loose Link, Sven Meyer, and Noisesurfer. This huge cluster of 18 tracks takes on warped ambient music which is corrupted and increased in size due to rough beats, low but organic noises, globular psychedelic whiffs, mesmerizing droning and incisive sonic effects. Moreover, even sublime deep house oscillations do have a strong impact upon the soundscape. In a nutshell, I used to have a soft spot for such kind of music because its slight imperfectness seems to be quite perfect in a paradoxic way. Almost all the things which used to be way too produced are hermetic and without remarkable touch by their nature.

Bruno Sanfilippo - Piano Texture Found (2012)

9.2

/Modern classical, Ambient, Experimental electronica, Electro-acoustic, Piano music/

Comment: Bruno Sanfilippo is a Barcelona residing composer of Argentinian heritage who provides a batch of 3 compositions undertaking the exploration of experimental piano music where the sequences of subtle piano chords are amplified and channelized into an atmospheric realm which in turn is filled in with sensitive touches, lofty ascensions, fragile digital-ragged fringes and microtonal noises and dropping electro-acoustic bits. In a word, it is a relaxing listening session worth your time to be spent for. By kindred souls there can be drawn parallels upon the likes of Max Richter, Bosque De mi Mente, Lubomyr Melnyk, for instance.

[Teaser of the day] Moodymann - Got 2 Make It (Dub)

[Teaser of the day] Cocolixe - Giving Myself To You

ZhangJW - A.D.S.R - Linkage (2008)

9.0

/Downtempo, Breaks, Cinematic, Chill out, IDM, Experimental electronica/

Comment: this set of 3 tracks comes out from Beijing, China. ZhangJW is the musician who is known due to establishment of the Bypass Records, a label created for representation of different kind of electronic music and broken beats. His own set has been managed in a way to fuse cinematic, laidback rhythms with some concrete sounds and lush ambient textures.

Anno Bergmann - Dark Diskette (2012)

9.2

/Electronic pop, Electro-rock, Art pop, Downtempo, Alternative, Indie soul/

Comment: mostly throughout the course this 9-piece set can be generalized for an example of subtle indie soul which originates from Cologne, Germany. More concretely, AB mixes up those wobbly vibrations and ideas with suggestive electronic rhythms, lush layers and ticklingly autotuned vocals which sometimes are more rock-oriented and uplifting, at times more contemplative and sensitive. The only exceptions are a genunine improvised rock-induced glimpse and glacial downtempo-esque appearance presented in the second part of the album.
