Comment: there are up 2 lengthy compositions where the aesthetical approach is spotted upon the mix of fuzzed long chords and powerful yet still soothing guitar penetrations. The second, eponymous track does include the singing by The Game Owl`s Jordan Hyman, more concretely, based on hypnotic repetitions and anxiety-induced exhausting reveries. It is an instance of controlled, exactly channelized psychedelia, isn`t? Impressive. This is heavy metal to be ours.

Comment: the Netherlands-based sonic explorer Richard Jonas launched his musical activity at the beginning of 90`s then operating with protracker on Amiga 500. Since this moment he has posted up a lot of releases over the internet (mainly at Bandcamp). Ondervlak is a huge publication of 28 compositions standing at the intersection between soothing downtempo, acidic electronic pop, gleaming IDM-esque propulsions and more blustery jungle and breakcore endeavours (which do refer at his past activities either sometimes). Inspite of the abovementioned stylistical boundaries the contents staying in between them do involve much more information than it is allowed to communicate it with possibly exact words.The predominant part of the album had been produced in a timespan of 5 years, between the years of 2005-2010. In addition to original tracks there are presented 4 remixes. In a word, the quality of the issue is undoubtedly high, the only problem is that it is way too long.
