Marcel Pequel - From One To Nine (2012)

FMA

9.0

/Modern classical, Minimal, Mood music, Piano music/

Comment: there are 9 emotionally accentuated piano tracks which are exceeded over 17 minutes. More concretely, by the word of the author it reflects upon a wide array of feelings and sentiments, some of them are positive, some of them quite negative ones. More concretely, these negative experiences seem somehow to be related to lonesomeness. However, first of all, it is a minimally treated moody composition, full of distinct corners to allowing the listener to be alone and  stay in his/her contemplation. In a nutshell, it is an instance of the 20th century classical music.

Alessio Oissela - Avant-garde Jouets (2012)

9.1

/Electro pop, Electronic pop, New Wave, Synth pop/

Comment: this 8-track issue consists of uplifting, compelling electro breaks and bubblegum gears which used to merge organically into each other. On the other side, there are some exceptions either where AO`s electro-tinged beat-terrorism seems to be connected with New Wave/synth pop aesthetics and Cocteau Twins-esque reverberations. Indeed, this music does hints at avant-garde music because of revealing its poignant and a little exceeding nature. The Project can be compared with the likes of Drexiya, Dopplereffekt, Arpanet.

Gobi Bear - LP EP (2012)

8.8

/Indie pop, Indie folk, Folk indie, Singer-songwriter, Alt-folk/

Comment: the Portugese artist Diogo aka Gobi Bear presents a 12-track issue which is made up of intimate folk and bucolic indie fingerpicking beyond it is laid charming singing manner and some melodica-alike ornaments in some tracks. All these songs are short-running snippets ending up approximately at 20 minutes in total. It is a lovely track which is appreciated for its own sake.

Killed By A Word - Kids With No Life Manuals (2012)

Lastfm

9.2

/Downtempo, Shoegazetronica, Post-rock, Experimental rock, Experimental electronica, Organic electronica, Ambient, Crossover/

Comment: this set of 6 tracks seems to be embarked on at the point where Seefeel finished off once in the mid of 90s. It involves lots of gleaming synthesizer lines which are adorned with suggestive hisses and organic noises and also providing soundtrack-close tremors. All the whole used to ascend and descend in an epic way. Stylistically the album can be considered a crossover album which drifts in between emotive electronica, ambient and propulsive alternative rock. The project comes of out Tunisia.

[Teaser of the day] saanasessions - Aki Empire

[Teaser of the day] Derek Clegg - Step

Cold Womb Descent - Rise of Ldaovh (2012)

9.7

/Dystopbient, Avant-garde, Epic, Electro-acoustic, Abstract, Dark ambient, Space music, Shoegazetronica, Crossover, Post-rock/

Comment: this sophomore album is the follow-up to CWD`s great self-titled album based on glimmering cosmic shadowplays and intricate obscurity. Indeed, the brand new one is a worthwhile trace which dovetails these aforementioned elements with the tendencies of shoegaze and post-rock music. This 10-track issue can be considered a cogent trinity consisting of exulting dark ambient-esque choppiness, majestic synthesized layers and blazing shoegaze-infiltrated noise washes. On the other side, the release will be ended up in a more bleak, abstract electro-acoustic and analogue electronica mixed environment. In a word, it feeds the listener`s envisioning and  relieves you anxiety because of providing a place where you could escape. If to compare it to the other artists, however, some parallels can be drawn upon the likes of Bing Satellites, Our Subatomic Earth, Caustic Reverie, J. Dujardin, saanasessions, aboombong. Or is it an example of how MBV`s third album proper might have sounded? Very special by any means.
