Outlaw Producer & Trouble - Flight Speed (2011)

9.1

/Dub-house, Club dance, Deep house/

Comment: this batch of 5 tracks used to be filled with dub-drenched echoes and suggestive electro flashs and whimsical house rhythms and some deep house oscillations. The whole consists of the original mix and four remakes.

Waskerley Way - Cat Music

8.8

/DIY, Chillwave, Lo-fi, Alternative, Shoegazetronica, Dream pop/

Comment: this set of handful of tracks does showcase masterful compositions made up of moody synth-based dust and lo-fi/DIY propulsions (a la Ariel Pink or the Russian Futurists) and shoegaze-ish chill magic. In a word, the cats are cool, the album is cool.

[Teaser of the day] The Retuses - He-art

Barthol Lo Mejor - Jet Set Rebels (2012)

9.1

/Alternative dance, Bubblegum techno, Electronic pop, Crossover, Electro pop/

Comment: this is a part of a double EP issued by the Estonian bubblegum techno and electro producer and popdada artist Barthol Lo Mejor some months ago. In short, the release is filled with uplifting rhythms and strict but suggestively gleaming propulsions. Its elegancy seems to be mastered by listening to Giorgio Moroder, Kraftwerk, Patrick Cowley, Dopplereffekt, and hectic Bollywood soundtracks. In a nutshell, this part is undoubtedly better section of the whole and is thought to be a dope for your body and mind.

Infinite Quazar - Intergalactic Boombox (2012)

9.4

/Instrumental hip-hop, Chill out, Cosmic-hop, Mood music, Acid jazz, Trip-hop/

Comment: this batch of short-running tracks (just only one piece will reach the length of more than 2 minutes) takes on instrumental space and innovative, dub-tinged, jazz reflections full of suggestively powerful fringes and endlessly soothing chips, however, without being cloying someway. The listener can discern the subtle contrast inbetween thunderous cadences and otherworldly reverberations pouring out of any slots represented on it. In a word, the result is an impressive one.

Horrible Present - 54, I Love You But It`s Time To Get Off (2012)

9.3

/Post-punk, Psychedelia, DIY, Experimental indie, Drone pop, Alternative, Lo-fi, Jangle pop/

Comment: this 10-piece issue seems to work without a hitch being mainly inspired by the 80s and 90s British post punk developments, uncompromising and innovative indie outlets, peripheral folk and psychedelic scene. All these endeavours are adorned with the hirsute DIY aesthetics and lo-fi outlines. The project`s sound based on chiming guitars, moody vocal lines, surging organ drones, some programmed rhythms used to be refreshing and nostalgic at the same time. Indeed, the album seems to be perfectly consistent with the likes of The Jesus & Mary Chain, early Primal Scream, Dub Sex, The Pastels, Spiritualized, Field Mice, Clinic, some The Slumberland-related projects etc.
