Comment: when
the UK-based artist Hanetration sent me the link of this outing at
Bandcamp he said he would hope this album would get enough attention
due to its special nature. In fact, all the previous Hanetration`s
issues are being idiosyncratic ones with highly leftfield and
experimental edges. Yet this handful of tracks may be considered a
universe within a universe because I cannot remember for Hanetration
would have been chimed in that spaced-out way. I reminds me a little
bit of the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 00s in my domestic
Estonia while listening to such artists as Uni (“dream” in
English), Galaktlan, Von Suck the artists whose oeuvre would like to
tag as ulmetronica. “Ulme” does mean “science fiction” in the
narrow sense of this word. In the broader sense it is the opposite
word to “olme”. It does mean something very usual something that
you are doing and you have to do in your everyday`s life. In a more
indirect sense, having deal with such sort of sound it is a way to
escape, to go elsewhere, it is a sort of transcendental experience.
In fact, Hanetration is very kind to provide such sort of sound. In a
gross sense, it is a subtle mix of space music, ambient and techno.
In a sublime sense, it excels at these borders to create something
beatific and otherworldly. It might be that a die-hard fan could find
this release to be somehow a compromise but by my opinion it is a new
substance of sound in his discography. Indeed, it can be considered majestic but it is not a play of shallow, flat postures; you can perceive something majestically noisy coming out from this magic pot. I am sure it is the most
pre-eminent issue by Hanetration at least at emotional level. One
of the best issues in 2017.
