The Fucked Up Beat – Europa II (2015)

/Sampledelic, Plunderphonics, Avant-garde, Experimentalism, Sound collage/

Comment: Brett Zehner and Eddie Palmer issued a pair of albums (Europa, and Europa II) on the 5th of January in 2015. As their previous albums so far Europa II consists of haunting, spaced-out samples with regard to UFO stories which are tightly interlaced with bold piano chords, electronic progressions on top and oldie music whiffs looping in and out of sequence. The 12-track release involves lots of emotive tracks ranging from oppressive melancholia to chilling desolation of a lonely soul. In general, if to compare it to the twin release the result might be slightly more lethargic and devoid of glistening techno and big beat rhythms. However, it chimes like a sort of pop music though it is not such kind of by no means. In a nutshell, the outing is mysteriously captivating and enchanting.
