Hamlet His Highness – For All & None (2016)

Comment: recently I have unfortunately met a human being for whom I have done a huge favour to make headway in her professional life and general welfare but later I have discovered she is an emotionally stupid one (though intellectually she is rather smart) because she can not recognise positive and friendly (and just sexually neutral) attitude for her. Just talking with her is something you are stalked by searching possible "faults", it is something truly exhaustive by being attacked unexpectedly and by reason. Does she get satisfaction from it by saying negatively? Are she searching for a place under the Sun? A drama queen with inferiority complexes. The only way is to reject her as much as possible by having no word with her even while sitting nearby her. An unlucky girl though for whom I cannot feel no compassion. What could help against and for these people? It might be such sort of music represented by a Belarusian combo called Hamlet His Highness whose music played truly loud will introduce oblivion in one's soul. I would call it an example of improvised post-rock, at times it is an example of elliptically rotating space rock played by a couple of musicians. Lots of chord changes on electric guitars and all of that being amplified and panned by violin bows. Both spatially and emotively it is an exquisite instance. One's contracted soul will be expanded, healed again. As the title hints at it – for all and none (other possibilities/remedies are to listen to the Smiths or The Fall – I just bought 6-CD box The Fontana Years where MES provides poignant descriptions to us of how ridiculous we are. It gives always a heck).

Comment: just checked out to get more exact information of how many times Belarusian Vitaly Harmash aka I/Dex`s music has been appeared at Recent Music Heroes. Most of the albums by Harmash had been reviewed approximately 5-6 years ago and there was a certain reason to do it. For instance, by listening to this 7-notch outing you can get enough support to the cover print of consisting of the waves of oscillation. From granular ambient and sophisticated drone to sublime post-rock moments and ennobling organic electronic music at times running separately, at times running side by side. There are up many signals as intriguing shape-shifters to move on from one state to another. In fact, one can feel himself/herself to be tensioned in a positive way. The stunning issue is a part of the discography of Foundamental Network.

Harmash - Der Golem (2013)

Comment: this batch of 7 tracks is a good example of how an ideal sort of ambient music should be produced for. Indeed, the Belarus-based artist Harmash fuses highly lush soundscapes with haunting moods, and mini symphony near progressions seamlessly stepped up and slowed down, respectively. More concretely, there are up clear-cut, treated sounds and remarkably rough hisses and microtonal noises thereby allowing the listener to enjoy a multidimensional perception of experimental music. Even if these compositions are made up just by following the minimal mode the resonances coming out from restrained turns and effects use do form a formidable approach. In a word, this whole sounds like a holistic approach of tasty sounds and the conceptual burden. The album is issued on a solid outfit, Foundamental Network.

Pavol Ambiont - Irrhythmia (2012)

Comment: this album involves a shitloads of tracks/snippets spreaded out over 45 minutes, however, recorded in a timespan of 4 years, more particularly, from 2007-2011 by Pavel Niakhayev who is known as being a member of many other musical collectives either. Stylistically it veers away from cosmic ambient dub vibrations and lush dubstep progressions to more exact, club-centered endeavours and even bubblegum-esque techno/robo pop glimpses and concrete sound and spoken word-fringed mystical rays. There can be drawn parallels upon the likes of Randomajestiq (his compatriot - from Belarus), Kraftwerk, The Orb (of course!), Sidharta (Andrey Kiritchenko), Alio Die, Gennaro Molino, Koalips etc. In a word, the issue is truly profound, subtly variegating and suggestively contemplative.

Alexei De Bronhe - Dance, Dance, Dance (OST) (2011)

Comment: there are represented 7 short-running sonic episodes which show up some electronic music possibilities by a wide range of styles. By the way, it is a conceptual album because of pretending to be a soundtrack on its own. Given that soothing and full of feeling moods are up to ooze out from glockenspiel-relied aggrandizements, glacial glow-alike appearances, resonating-heavy sonic effects, and majestic and immense translucent looming. At times it is about pulsating sonic effects/electricity, at times about raga-drenched propulsions being conjured up by a tanpura and the tabla drums. Its more experimental moments are finely outbalanced by profound laid-back incantations, the listener can detect the elements of cinematic and easy listening flickers being inherently characteristic for very most of soundtracks. In a word, this is a mesmerizing manifesto by Alexei De Bronhe, an indie filmmaker, video, producer, musician, and audio-visual artist from Minsk, Belarus. The issue is being released under an excellent creative artists' umbrella, Foundamental Network.

Alexander Martovsky Libidolove, Mortidowar (Foundamental Network)


A young, 23 year-old musician from Minsk, Belarus, Alexander Martovsky has been active throughout the ending year, having issued no more or less albums than 3. The album Libidolove, Mortidowar, after his previous workouts M42, and Keep Quiet, Everybody Is Sleeping, reflects upon his skillfully aesthetical and professional aspirations, and it might be, still searchings for certain realms to get landed somewhere for having a possibility to be settle down into a mould for his personal future. Actually the last intention may not make much difference at all, as a final result being ideally reached off in principle and represented as one of the best notches in 2010. In a more concrete way, there are 14 tracks building up a exhilarating whole between lush shoegaze-filled soundscape, mesmerizing poptronica and post-rock-ish blowups, minor symphonic arrangements a la Ennio Morricone, and rigid/austere electronic music experiments, subtle IDM-cadenced opalescence and malignant drum and bass-based motorik whips, and for much more, and for much more. All in all, it reminds of 2010`s superb works of Monokle & Galun (In Frame), and Foxes in Fiction (Swung from The Branches). No doubt, listening to the tracks like You, and Heaven, what should it be described for? Would this album predict Martovsky`s position as a further experimental rock star or, on the other hand, shows up the overally screwed-up substance of pop business?
